PURPOSE: A method for predicting and controlling Adoxophyes orana using sex pheromone compounds containing cis-9 tetradecenyl acetate having better insect sex-attraction effect than conventional cis-11 tetradecenyl acetate is provided. Whereby, the pheromone composition has no toxicity to human body and animal and can be effectively used in controlling harmful insects because it specifically and strongly attracts the male of summerfruit tortrix moth, Adoxophyes Orana in its search for the female. CONSTITUTION: The summerfruit tortrix moth, Adoxophyes Orana controlling composition contains cis-11 tetradecenyl acetate and cis-9 tetradecenyl acetate in a weight ratio of 90:10 to 99:1. And the summerfruit tortrix moth is controlled by dispersing the composition in the air to disturb copulation of the male insects.
