PURPOSE: A Cu-Al-Ni based shape memory alloy ribbon having crystal grain size of 6 microns or less, thickness of 30 to 110 microns and width of 1.2 to 3.7 mm is provided, which is manufactured by using a single roll type melt spinning apparatus, and a method for manufacturing the Cu-Al-Ni based shape memory alloy ribbon is provided. CONSTITUTION: In a Cu-Al-Ni based shape memory alloy ribbon manufactured using a melt spinning apparatus, the Cu-Al-Ni based shape memory alloy ribbon is characterized in that the ribbon has crystal grain size of 6 microns or less, thickness of 30 to 110 microns and width of 1.2 to 3.7 mm. The method for manufacturing the Cu-Al-Ni based shape memory alloy ribbon comprises the steps of manufacturing mother alloy for manufacturing a shape memory alloy ribbon by cooling the homogenized ingot in the atmosphere after homogenizing for 24 hours an ingot obtained after charging base metal of Cu, Al and Ni into a graphite crucible of a high frequency vacuum induction melting furnace and melting the charged base metal; charging prepared mother alloy into a quartz tube having a diameter of 0.6 mm, and melting the mother alloy using an induction heater; and obtaining a shape memory alloy ribbon having thickness of 30 to 110 microns and width of 1.2 to 3.7 mm by spraying the melted mother alloy onto the surface of a rotating copper wheel, wherein the base metal comprises 82 to 85 wt.% of Cu, 12 to 14 wt.% of Al and 3 to 4 wt.% of Ni, a spraying pressure of the melted mother alloy is 0.6 to 0.8 kgf/mm¬2, and a rotating speed of the wheel is 10 to 50 m/s.
