PURPOSE: An immunoglobulin Y(IgY) antibody for the treatment of seborrhoeic dermatitis and the use thereof are provided, thereby the activity and growth of Pityrosporum ovale can be effectively inhibited, so that seborrhoeic dermatitis can be treated. CONSTITUTION: The immunoglobulin Y(IgY) antibody for the treatment of seborrhoeic dermatitis is prepared by the steps of: culturing Pityrosporum ovale in Brucella broth containing Skirrow's supplement and sterilized oil at 37 deg. C for 3 to 4 days; centrifuging the cultured medium to collect pellet; subjecting the pellet to ultrasonic wave; filtrating the ultrasonic wave treated pellet with multipore cellulose or nylon mesh to obtain water-insoluble cell wall components of Pityrosporum ovale; injecting the filtered cell wall components of Pityrosporum ovale into laying hens; collecting yolk or serum from the laying hens; and freeze-drying or spray-drying the yolk or serum containing IgY antibody.
