Preparation of soft capsule using ginseng extract and soft capsule prepared thereby

PURPOSE: A process for preparing a soft capsule containing ginseng extract is provided to supply nutrient component having physiological effect from coating film as well as the content of the soft capsule by adding the ginseng extract into the coating film. CONSTITUTION: The process comprises the steps of mixing gelatin, glycerin, ginseng extract and purified water; swallowing and dissolving the mixture; degassing the dissolved solution under vacuum condition; and forming the solution into desired shape. The ginseng extract is added in an amount of 1-30 wt.% based on 100 wt.% in solid state. The ginseng extract may be obtained by adding water and/or ethanol in ginseng material then boiling and filtering insoluble components; concentrating the filtered solution at 20-80deg.C under vacuum condition to result in a 60-70% concentrate; and finally, hot-drying or lyophilizing the resulted concentrate.
