PURPOSE: A method for preparing a powdered cleanser using a fatty acid alkyl ester ethoxylate-based surfactant is provided to prevent the deterioration of the cleansing power due to the degradation of fatty acid alkyl ester ethoxylate by an alkali component of a cleansing builder. CONSTITUTION: The method comprises the steps of infiltrating nonionic surfactants except a fatty acid alkyl ester ethoxylate-based nonionic surfactant, anionic surfactants, a cleansing promoter and a cleansing builder into a porous oil-absorbing carrier of pH of 10 or less in an alkali cleansing builder or 1% its aqueous solution to prepare a primary powder; and infiltrating the primary powder and a fatty acid alkyl ester ethoxylate-based nonionic surfactant into a porous oil-absorbing carrier of pH of 10 or less in 1% aqueous solution to prepare a secondary powder. Preferably the porous oil-absorbing carrier is at least one selected from the group consisting of zeolite, laminated silicate, silica, alumina and clay. The fatty acid alkyl ester ethoxylate-based nonionic surfactant is represented by RCOO(CH2CH2O)nR', wherein R is an alkyl group of C8-C18, n is 4-15 and R' is an alkyl group of C1-C4.
