The temperature correction coefficient of the equation for predicting solar cell power generation is corrected to the negative direction as the monthly average temperature increases. For amorphous silicon solar cells, the amount of power generation is predicted to be smaller than the actual amount of power generation. In order to prevent this, a correction coefficient that becomes higher as the monthly average temperature increases is calculated based on the monthly average temperature of the solar cell installation place. The amount of power generation is estimated from the average solar irradiance at the installation site, the calculated correction factor, and the rated power generation of the solar cell. With this arrangement, the amount of power generated by the amorphous silicon solar cell or the photovoltaic power generation apparatus can be more accurately predicted based on the installation site.
