HEAD PANTHOM FOR MEASURING DISTRIBUTION AND INTENSITY ABSORBED DOSE OF RADIOACTIVE RAYS

A head phantom for measuring radiation distribution and intensity is disclosed. The disclosed head phantom for measuring distribution includes a first phantom portion having a half spherical shape with a cutting plane disposed vertically. The second phantom portion, which is a quarter spherical shape, i.e., the cut size of the lateral phantom portion, is arranged such that one of its cut surfaces is against the lower cut surface of the first phantom portion. The third phantom portion, which is the same size as the second phantom portion, is disposed to face the remaining cut surface of the second phantom portion and the upper portion of the cut surface of the first phantom portion so that the first to third phantom portions merge into one to have a spherical shape. A cut surface in which the first phantom portion and the third phantom portion are in contact with each other, and an X-ray film indicative of the radiation distribution which is the relative radiation dose are respectively attached to the cut surface in which the second phantom portion and the third phantom portion are in contact. As a result, the distribution of the radiation can be measured not only in the cross section but also in the longitudinal section and the shear surface.
