FIELD: medicine. SUBSTANCE: method involves giving lessons on theoretical principles to the trainees with portrait psychotherapy techniques being demonstrated next to it. Situational neurosis is artificially invoked in a trainee by setting a problem difficult to solve concerning making sculpture portrait of one of patients in natural size. Several attempts in making sculpture portrait being done, the trainee is suggested to study methods for building spatial portrait of himself with assistance of skillful expert in the field of portrait psychotherapy. Material for making the portrait of himself is plastic. Shape and size of plastic billet corresponds in size and shape to hen egg. The first stage of making portrait of himself being over, the billet is coated with thin layer of the same plastic material to make a billet greater in size. The doctor trainee makes the spatial portrait from the bigger billet. The procedure is repeated until natural size of sculpture is achieved. When making the portrait of himself, the trainee is subjected to psychotherapeutic treatment like psychotherapeutic make-up and other arttherapy techniques. The trainee continues creating patient sculpture in pauses between the sessions. Professional specialist finishes the trainee portrait at the last stage, and the trainee finishes making the patient portrait himself. Experts assess the results of work done by the professional specialist and the trainee. Clinical healing of patient being achieved, required portraits likeness with original persons being checked, conclusions about professional certification are drawn to allow the trainee to making independent practice in the field of portrait psychotherapy.
