摘要

FIELD: chemical industry. SUBSTANCE: anthracite, schungite, natural or artificial graphite are treated with a strong oxidizing agent, for example, H2O2,KMnO4 or K2CrO4 at the room temperature. Formic, acetic, oxalic, nitric or perchloric acid can be added to a mixture and exothermic reaction is initiated by rapid heating part of substance to 250 C. Unfolded graphite is obtained as result of self-maintaining reaction and its volume exceeds the parent volume by 100-1000 times, its specific surface is up to 10 000 m2/g. The obtained product is able to sorb any water-soluble substances from water and heavy fractions and impurities from organic liquids, to retain suspensions, aerosols, foams, poison gases from air. Reaction can be performed in any nonoxidizing capacity and without special devices. Invention can be used for treatment of air and water from technogenic and mineral pollutions and for removal of toxins from human body.
