FIELD: application of polymer coats by thermodynamic deposition of powder by pneumoelectrostatic spraying on metal surface s of large-sized structures, for example under field conditions. SUBSTANCE: metal surface to be coated with polymer coat is subjected to local heating by hot air jet. As soon as temperature of area to be coated becomes higher that temperature of destruction of powder being applied, dispersed electrostatic powder at concentration of from 1 to 200 g/l is introduced by signal of thermosensitive unit into jet of hot air form its periphery. Under action of this jet, destructive particles of polymer powder are applied in circle of heated surface; jet of hot air is shifted in way of coat; rear part of this jet is used for thermal fixation of layer of polymer powder. Temperature of heating in center of circle of surface being treated is maintained within preset limits by means of thermosensitive unit, for example optical temperature meter at advance in way of coat.
