A process for the preparation of a cast asphalt ceilings connection for a railway track installation

A rectangular elastic strip (3) is fastened to rail head (2) and guide rail (2) before the asphalt cover (1) is applied. The strip corresponds in height and thickness to the joint to be formed between asphalt cover and rail head/rail. The strip is located flush with the top edge of rail head/rail. The poured asphalt cover is constructed up to the strip, which is removed shortly before the asphalt has cooled completely. The joint thus formed is filled with a cast joint filler. The strips are anchored to rail head/rail by steel clamps (4) during asphalt pouring.
