A sound amplifier control device has a noise detection device (4) which is used for establishing the actual or true loudness level of the audio device, and an adjustment device (5) for establishing the desired sound level. A control unit (6) is connected to the noise detector, to the adjustment device and to a commands transmitter (3) for issuing the commands, depending on the ratio of the desired- to the actual-sound level, for attaining the desired sound level.
