The skating boot, consisting of an upper (1) fastened between the edges of an inner (2) and an outer (3) sole, has the outer sole portion, optionally in front of the heel only, made with a central cavity filled with a material (10) that is substantially lighter than the rest of the sole, e.g. a synthetic foam. The outer sole can be made from two layers (3a, 3b) of leather, or one of leather and the other of a reinforcing plastic, and the cavity can be made in one or both layers.
