Speed skating boot or similar ice-skating boot used for sport, having a boot leg which is drawn laterally upwards beyond the ankle against lateral twisting of the foot, which boot, in order to make it easier to angle the leg forwards relative to the foot, is deeply indented towards the sole in the area between instep and upper lace area with regard to the edge of the boot leg, so that the edges of the boot leg in this area are not immediately squashed by the twisting movement and are resilient as a result of the increased length due to the wide indentation, there being provided at the lowest point of the indentations lace eyelets for a secure holding of the foot in the joint area.
