A method for automatically squaring and justifying a scanned image involves determining the location of the limiting pixels for each scanned image, and approximating the average values for each R-,G-,B-channel of all of the pixels followed by setting the approximate R-,G, B-average values as R,G,B-threshold values for the limiting pixels. A momentary pixel is then determined as a limiting pixel and its position is described when its R,G,B-values are less than the R,G,B-threshold values.
