The housing for a motor vehicle's heater unit has pipe connectors(2,3) upon the generated circumferential face of at least one of which a fitting aid(9) with one or more elastic axial locking barbs(10) is provided. After fitting of the pipe connector through a corresponding hole(6) in the wall(5) of the vehicle the locking barb spreads into a locking position on the rear side of the wall. The internal diameter of the generated surface of the fitting aid corresponds to the external diameter of the pipe connector. An Independent claim is included for a procedure for fitting a housing for a heater to the wall of a vehicle using the proposed fitting aid which is equipped with locking barbs.
