Method in which a vehicle (10) with a positioning system (1) records its position over a route and records it in memory (2). The measured route is transferred to a database (4) and a computer (5) processes the data, ideally with other vehicle data, to check and statistically analyze the data to yield a reworked street map. The latter can then be transmitted over telecommunications (8) to users (9).
