Novel coryneform bacterium in which the gpsA gene encoding glycerol-3-phosphate dehydrogenase is enhanced, useful for fermentative production of L-amino acids such as L-lysine and L-glutamate
A coryneform bacterium (I) in which the gpsA gene encoding glycerol-3-phosphate dehydrogenase is enhanced, is new. An independent claim is also included for a polynucleotide (II) which is isolated from (I), containing a polynucleotide sequence selected from a polynucleotide which is at least 70 % homologous with a polynucleotide which encodes a 332 residue amino acid sequence (S1), fully defined in the specification, a polynucleotide which encodes a polypeptide at least 70% homologous with S1, complements of them, and a polynucleotide comprising at least 15 successive nucleotides of them.
