A set of patch antennas (8) forming filled sub array and another set forming thin sub array are formed over mutually integrated carriers i.e. insulation layers (6,14) separated by a layer of conductive metal (24) such that the antennas are on both outer sides. A millimeter wave circuit (MMIC) (22) and a digital signal processor (DSP) integrated circuit (IC) (20) with built-in A/D converter are mounted on the external side of carrier (14) with their wirings. The digital signal processor processes the signals with one amplitude Af and phase phi f from the sub array and with another amplitude At and phase phi t from the filled array, obtained through supply lines (16) arranged external to the carrier elements. An Independent claim is also included for use of a radar sensor in a vehicle, attached as an ornamental strip.
