Elimination of trinitrotoluene from ground water and waste liquor, e.g. in soil associated with blasting site or munitions store or factory, uses cycle of alternate aerobic fungal fermentation and anaerobic bacterial mineralization
Elimination of trinitrotoluene (TNT) from ground water and waste liquor comprises circulating water containing TNT through a microbiological treatment cycle of alternate (i) fine enzymatic decomposition of TNT with a finely-divided stream of a lygninolytic system inoculated with fungi and (ii) fine bacterial mineralization under anaerobic conditions in a water reservoir treated with bacteria. Elimination of trinitrotoluene (TNT) from ground water and waste liquor comprises circulating water containing TNT through a microbiological treatment cycle of alternate (i) fine enzymatic decomposition of TNT under aerobic conditions with a finely-divided stream of a lygninolytic system inoculated with fungi and (ii) fine bacterial mineralization under anaerobic conditions in a water reservoir treated with bacteria. An Independent claim is also included for the plant used in this process.
