A crown (12) fixed to the top of a bridge base (16) is normally held in position by the friction caused between the inner surface of the crown and the outer surface of the bridge construction. The new design of a crown (12) for a dental bridge is provided with a base (14, 24) accommodated in the hollow space at the bottom of the artificial tooth (12). The base (14 24 24) is assembled of an L-shaped (68) and a straight segment (66) and is clamped onto the bridge (16) where it is held in position by at least one elastic retention element (46), located at the inner surface of the base (24) which engages with a recess (58) provided at the outer surface of the bridge construction (16).
