The machine has a punching unit(3) moving backwards and forwards parallel to the channel direction with a punching tool moved in a punching direction perpendicular to the extruded product(2) by an adjustable drive unit(25). The drive unit comprises a hydraulic motor with a shaft rotating around the motor axis(30). A force transfer mechanism(66,40) between the shaft and punching tool produces a reciprocating movement of the punching tool from the shaft which always rotates in the same direction.
