The holder cross axis (7) lies within the headrest (3) to run in guides (11) parallel to the rods (6) so the headrest in operating settings hangs in the guides at its top end. When the headrest rests on the seat back (2) and the axis is at the bottom end of the guides, the headrest is freed to be flipped back into its rest position. The headrest end traversed by the rods is convexed in section to roll securely round the seat back into the rest position. At the bottom end of the guides the center of gravity of the headrest is offset from the cross axis so as to promote the flip-over movement of the headrest by a rotative moment.
