Paper/cardboard web press section has an impermeable belt with a roughened surface, to carry the web through the roller press gap, to give a roughened web surface over a long working life

The web press section, at a machine for the production of paper or cardboard or tissue, leads the web (1) from the cylindrical counter roller (4) to an impermeable belt (6), with the belt in contact with the web on one side and the press blanket (5) on the other side. The belt has a rough surface in contact with the web. The web is fed through the roller gap between two press rollers (7), together with the belt. The press section, at the machine for the production of paper/cardboard/tissue, has only one extended roller press gap (8). The web passes around the counter roller again, on leaving the roller press gap, and then over a guide roller (9) between the release point at the counter roller and the belt. A gap is between the counter roller and the guide roller and/or between the guide roller and the belt. The web is pressed against the belt before it reaches the next roller press gap, preferably by a pressure roller (10) which presses into the belt path. After the second roller press gap, the web clings to the press roller (7) where it travels without the belt, to be transferred after moving around a part of the roller surface to a second spaced drying belt (11) and especially a fourdrinier of a further drying section. When the belt has been separated from the web, the surface in contact with the web is treated by a fluid cleaning unit (12) and/or a scraper (13).
