The braking system for construction machinery comprises a hydraulically controlled service brake and a mechanically controlled hand brake. This has a handle (1, 9) connected to an eccentric lever (2) which fits into a notch (3) in the edge of a rotating disk (4). The lever is held in place by a spring-loaded pin and the notch slopes towards it. The opposite end of the pin rests against the piston of the service brake.
