The device for temperature control of an internal combustion engine equipped with a liquid cooling circuit with a pump and motor, and a fluid-air heat exchanger (4) with a motor driven fan, has an additional heater with semi-conductor elements to control the operation of the cooling liquid fan motor (2) and/or heat exchanger fan motor (6). During cold start the semi-conductor elements are operated with a liability to power dissipation, whereby the fan motor remains de-energized. In the cold start phase the cooling liquid pump is operated at a lower power in comparison to normal operation.
