An interface for a chip card connects to a data processor/PC. Data relating to the chip card owner is checked for the owner's access authorization for the PC in use. After a positive check on access authorization a user-specific configuration data file is loaded from a storage/data processor module onto an external PC and then run so that the PC is configured for the user. After finishing use of the PC, the data specific to the user on the PC is deleted.
