Automatic determination of replacement point for grinding or crushing rollers by measuring the ridge surface and comparing it with the original ridge cross section

Method for evaluating wear states of a grooved roller, in which a profile impression is taken at suitable points on the grooved roller, the cross section of the grooved surface is determined and compared with the original surface cross section. The remaining ridge surface is taken as a measure of roller wear. An Independent claim is made for a method for determining the point at which grinding or crushing rollers require replacement.
