A head support for vehicles made out of two separable but connected half shells which comprise a tubular carrier as a yoke with two limbs for the fixing of the head support in the rear part of the vehicle seat, has a cushioned support for the head of the vehicle passenger. Both half shells (1,2) contain in their inside a stiffening plastic frame (6). In the front half shell (in the travel direction), the cushioned support for the head of the vehicle passenger is arranged centrally. The two adjoining sections of the front half shell contain collectors (8) for the capture and collection of light and its further conduction to solar modules (10) for a conversion into electrical energy which is stored in storage elements (12).
