The body has a front vehicle structure (3) narrowed backwards by a front bulkhead (6) that supports both sides of a motor vehicle at each support unit (7). An additional rear bulkhead (9) is spaced from the front bulkhead and optically extends the structure. The rear bulkhead supports both sides of the vehicle at each assigned support unit and represents a front limit of a backwards shifting passenger compartment (4). Middle bulkheads are arranged between the front and rear bulkheads. A windshield (8) is lowered or hinged in a free space that is formed between the front and rear bulkheads.
