The appliance has a housing with heat exchanger (40) and fresh air intake. The housing consists of three extruded profiles (12,14) forming wall elements and surrounding the heat exchanger, which is fastened to its esp. via screws. The profile ends are contained in a common end wall. The three profiles form four walls, esp. two profiles being mirror-symmetrical, with each forming 11/2 walls. The profiles are connected via inter linking fastener elements, and clips. The profiles are esp. of aluminum or aluminum alloy.
