Process for safely storing sodium percarbonate in a container closed to the environment comprises measuring the temperature at one point within the sodium percarbonate stored in a loose bed; and periodically or continuously passing dry air through the bed which experiences a temperature rise of 0.5-10 (1-5) deg C per day, until the temperature rise is reduced to less than 1 deg C per day. Preferred Features: The sodium percarbonate is stored at an average temperature of less than 40, especially 15-30 deg C. The dry air has a dew point of -20 to +5 deg C. The sodium percarbonate is stored in a silo having a volume of at least 10 m3, 10-250 m3. The sodium percarbonate is in granulated form with a stabilizing encapsulating layer.
