Inclination sensor arrangement, particularly for use in motor vehicle as roll sensor, has two surface mounted sensors combined in such a way that inherent offset errors cancel each other out
Inclination sensor arrangement has a first acceleration sensor (1) with its base surface (1a) in contact with a mounting and contact element (3). The acceleration sensor has an output signal and an inherent offset error. An additional second acceleration sensor (2) is mounted on the contact element with a separation between its base surface (2a) and the contact element for use in compensating system errors caused by the sensor offsets. The second sensor is mounted upside down with respect to the first sensor. While its offset signal has similar sign to that of the first sensor, the acceleration signal has opposite sign. Subtraction of one signal from the other yields a signal equal to double the acceleration signal.
