Opaquely tinted, biaxially-oriented, partly crystalline film with a thickness of 1-500 microns based on a crystallisable thermoplastic (I) contains 2,4,4'-trichloro-2'-hydroxy-diphenyl ether (Triclosan) and optionally other antimicrobial substances as antimicrobial components together with at least one color pigment. An independent claim is also included for a method for the production of this film by extruding a mixture of (I) with additives as above, with or without other functional substances to form a flat melt film, quenching on a cooling roll, reheating and stretching at least once in the machine direction and the cross direction, heat fixing at 200-280[deg]C, cooling and winding on a reel.
