The weather protection consists of a tarpaulin (10) and a frame (12), to hold it at a distance above the car, esp. the windows, e.g. overnight or during other stops. The frame is supported and/or fastened to the car, and has supports for the tarpaulin. The tarpaulin is tensioned when in use. The frame has several spacers, fastened to it at relative distances. The weather protection may be formed as a roof rack mounted on the car roof.
