Organization-wide communication and database system, where a distributed database is stored on a number of computers in different organization locations so that it can be accessed at any time from different parts of the world

Communication system with a number of spatially separate personal computers inclusive of software connected to a data network, e.g. the Internet. A first group (Gr1) of personal computers (PC1-PC4) with identical hard and software form at least four storage regions (D1-D4) for parts of a database. The database parts form a logical centralized database although physically the data is decentralized. Any of the PCs can access the whole database via the network. A second group (GR2) of PCs (PC21-24) can access the database via the network with the connection made to any of the first group of computers dependent on the time zone in which they are in.
