Diagnosis of internal combustion engine charger's thrust return air valve, involves identifying fault if negative engine load change is detected with pulsations in load parameter
The method involves determining a parameter derived from a signal describing the load on the internal combustion engine. A fault in the valve region is identified if a negative load change is detected with pulsations in the derived parameter. Pulsations are detected using a counter that caries out a counting process when values exceed and fall below a threshold. Independent claims are also included for the following: an arrangement for controlling a thrust return air valve for a charger for an internal combustion engine, a computer program and a computer program product for implementing the method.
