The method involves carrying out the creep torque regulation using the forward/reverse detection of the drive output revolution rate sensor. The clutch pressure is reduced a minimum with the vehicle at rest to guarantee minimum bracing of the drive train and this pressure remains unchanged as long as the drive output revolution rate is null. The pressure can be immediately increased to the holding pressure by feeding in gas.
