Regulating motor vehicle speed involves outputting signal for biasing brake system if acceleration demand signal falls below threshold above value at which brake system is activated
The method involves generating an acceleration demand signal (asoll) representing a positive or negative desired acceleration of the vehicle. A control command (A or B) is passed to the engine or brake system (24,26) depending on the acceleration demand signal. A signal (F) for biasing the brake system is output if the acceleration demand signal falls below a threshold above a value at which the brake system is activated.
