The central tensioning process involves using a cable, which is diverted in such a manner that the free end of the tensioning lever is engaged in a sort of shoe. By this means, the wing is tensioned and brought to its correct shape by means of the knuckle joint. The free ends of several knuckle joints may be engaged in corresponding shoes at the same time, using a central cable.
