A method for representing or processing technical variants of a product, in which different article characteristic values (variants) of one or more product features have an effect on one or more later dependent features. The parts lists or working plans contain functional requests which can be carried out independently of the PPS-/ERP-system in an external function-system, where conventional procedures are used for requesting the functions according to the operating system.
