The method involves generating a movement speed error signal and processing it in a proportional-integral-differential correction device to control a corrected flap speed. A compensation signal is derived from the integral output if the angular flap position is shifted to exceed the half-open emergency position and is outside a predefined angle interval for restoring spring operation. The compensation signal is used to reduce the position error. The method involves generating a movement speed error signal, processing it in a non linearly proportional, integrating and differentiating correction device (15) to control a corrected flap (1) movement speed. A compensation signal is determined from the integral output if the angular flap position is shifted so that the half-open emergency position is exceeded and lies outside a predefined angle interval for restoring spring operation. The compensation signal is used to reduce the flap position error effect.
