Frequency synthesizer with phase control loop has reference oscillator tunable with respect to reference oscillator frequency, reference divider programmable with respect to division factor

The device has a phase control loop with a controled oscillator, a programmable division factor frequency divider, a phase comparator with filters, a reference frequency oscillator and a reference divider. To reduce the synthesizer's settling period the reference oscillator is tunable with respect to its reference oscillator frequency and the reference divider is programmable with respect to its reference frequency division factor. Independent claims are also included for the following: a method of frequency synthesis in a frequency synthesizer with a phase control loop.
