A boring tool for boring small diameter bores, e.g. less than 20 mm has a tool holder (2) fitted into the slotted end of a tool bar (1) and secured by a single fastener. The tool holder has cutting edge (5) fitted to a support block held in the holder by a pin (8) and with a thrust face of the holder moved by a conical section of a single adjusting screw, and with integral springs (9, 10) for added control. The adjustment is via a stick-slip free radial displacement for accurate adjustment, e.g. to a few microns.
