The reference oscillation time is set up and the time at which the oscillation of a magnetron (9) is started according to a control signal is measured. The reference time is compared with the oscillation start time. The pulse width of the control signal is adjusted, when the reference oscillation time is longer than the oscillation start time. An independent claim is included for microwave oven.
