The piezoelectric extension actuator (170) has a stack (22,220) of d33 piezoelements between output elements (18,19,180,190) which are secured to the structure exhibiting the vibration, e.g. a strut, with an axial spacing between the ends of the piezoelement stack and the bearing surfaces of the output elements.
