Camera zoom flash calculates light quantity for pre-flash dependent on detected zoom position of flash light source

The zoom flash has a flash light source displaced along an axis by a zoom driver, for altering the illumination angle and a detection device, for detecting the zoom position of the flash light source, coupled to a central processing unit (13) for calculating a pre-flash emission level and activating the light source for providing a pre-flash used for photometric light metering for control of the main flash. An Independent claim for a flash photography system is also included.
