Shaft-less motor drive for offset printer with anilox ink rollers uses first and second motors to directly drive ink rollers and indirectly drive type forme cylinders

The printer has a first motor (20) connected directly to the anilox ink roller for inking the first type forme cylinder (16). The motor drives the ink roller and is connected to a first cylinder to drive same. A second anilox ink roller for inking the second type forme cylinder (36) is connected directly with a second motor (22) which drives same and is connected to the second cylinder to drive this. A second rubber blanket cylinder (38) selectively contacts the second type forme cylinder. Independent claim describes method for driving printer by directly driving first ink roller and indirectly driving first type forme cylinder through one motor and directly driving second roller and indirectly driving second type forme cylinder using second motor.
