PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for trimming the shredded tobacco layer for a cigarette production machine capable of lowering the disintegration of shredded tobacco and improving the productivity of cigarette rods. ;SOLUTION: This apparatus for trimming the shredded tobacco layer for a cigarette production machine is provided with a pair of trimming disks 10 rotatably placed under a suction band 2 and a peeler wheel 14 rotatably placed immediately below the trimming disks 10. The peeler wheel 14 has a peeling blade 44 on the outer circumferential edge to peel excess shredded tobacco from the shredded tobacco layer in cooperation with the trimming disks 10. The apparatus is further provided with an air nozzle 48 to determine the discharging direction of the excess shredded tobacco by blowing compressed air against the peeled excess shredded tobacco.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1998,JPO
