The invention concerns a method for storing plastic preforms (P) in a container (C) which consists in: treating the external surface of the preforms so as to make said surface more slippery, and in storing said preforms in bulk in the container (C), the external surface of the preforms exhibiting after treatment a sufficiently low friction coefficient so that the storage density (number of stored preforms per volume unit) is much higher than what it would have been in similar conditions with untreated preforms.
